The Brothers Christ - Echoes of Lost Souls LP (1987, Colony Records)
Here is a Venus In Furs side-project including Times (going by the name Jeremy Christ) and Colin Johnson. The material varies throughout the album including some dark and gloomy minimal tracks to experimental instrumental pieces. "Night of Denial" is the monster here... reminds me of an accidental precursor to the Staccato Du Mal sound or even "Call of the Wild"-style Dark White. Some of the other tracks are certainly worth a try as well, such as "The Void".

You have some very rare stuff! I like what I'm hearing. I'm currently trying to track down an MP3 of a 7" called Burning Sun by East Of Java. don't suppose you have it. Even a lot of the big 80s bloggers have turned up nothing. : )
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I don't have anything by East of Java. I've seen some of their records in the past online and know they were associated with Plastic Head in the late 80s but never had any obvious reasons to seek out their material since I've never heard any recommendations about them (until now), heard anything that I can recall, or been convinced by any sales puffery when I have seen their items on sites like eBay in the past.
ReplyDeleteNo problem man You can check them out here if you're curious. A really nice vibe to them but just got lost in the shuffle.

Hi, is it possible to re up that rar file, please? It is corrupted, i can't open it :S. Thank you for this great blog, hours of amazing listenings coming up :)
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded it and it worked fine for me. Obviously it has worked fine for others since the original file is still active since this was posted. Make sure you have a program that can open .rar extensions such as winrar.
ReplyDeleteSure, Ive used winrar for years. Thanks for the re up
ReplyDeleteI've been getting more and more into VIF over the years and just came across this side project during some research and I'm sure you know there is just little to no information floating around about this stunning band. I would really just love to hear this, so if it wouldn't be to much of a hassle could you please re-up the link ? I would greatly appreciate it!
ReplyDeletethanks again for sharing all of your wonderful treasures
